South London’s Louis Culture has become a driving force in the London hip-hop scene over the past few years. His 2020 debut, Smile Soundsystem, was lauded by critics for its seamless shift through multiple genres like house, R&B, trap, breakbeat and garage. His follow-up, When Life Presents Obstacle, continued this exploration. As a rapper and DJ, he’s absorbed these varied influences to create a signature style that doesn’t shy away from social and political commentary.

On his upcoming EP, I Can’t Wait To See U Again, he narrows his focus, telling one interviewer that he wants to “hone in on one sound.” In the process of learning to play piano, he wants more control over his work as a producer. As he grows as an artist, he very much could be the next big thing.
