Las Migas is an all-female four piece from Barcelona. Their name, “the bread crumbs,” is based on a popular Spanish dish. When vocalists Sílvia Pérez Cruz (vocals) and guitarists Marta Robles and Isabelle Laudenbach met at the music high school, Escuela Superior de Música de Cataluña, they formed the group that would also include violinist Lisa Bause. Personnel changes over the year left Robles as the only original member.
With a style known as New Flamenco, Las Migas merges flamenco, Catalan rumba and Cuban and Mexican musical traditions. From their first release in 2010 (Reinas del matute) to 2024’s Rumberas, the quartet has celebrated the sounds of the Spanish-speaking world. They’ve been recognized for their artistry, winning awards for Best Flamenco Album in 2020 at the Independent Music Awards and earning at Grammy in 2022.
Las Migas has just kicked off a North American tour to support Rumberas and the brand new single, Tu, solo tu.” Take a look to learn if they’re coming to your town. It’s an experience you won’t want to miss.
