Chicago native Katie Kadan seemed like she would go all the way when she competed on The Voice. In the end, viewers were shocked when she landed in third place. Yet her exposure on that show was just the beginning of her rise.

Kadan has a big, powerful voice. It’s an antidote to the sea of auto-tuned pretenders that dominate the music scene today. She belts out bluesy tunes with ease, a product of seeds sown in her past of singing with the church choir. She brings joy to her craft along with incredible technique. Her mother was a songwriter, and music was an integral part of daily life while growing up, and both parents exposed her 60s folk and classic soul.

After The Voice, Kadan headed to the studio to record her eponymous debut, with original songs, released in 2019. Her latest single, “Without You” hit the streamer in August, and it’s a perfect showcase for her singular talent.
