In 2014 composer/multi-instrumentalist Seth Appelbaum began experimenting with genre-bending sounds and instruments with a range of effects from reverb to distortion. What was initially a solo project grew to a 10-piece collective by 2017.
Creating a singular sound of jazzy, psychedelic soul, Ghost Funk Orchestra has released five studio albums since it’s 2019 debut, A Song for Paul. The group’s most recent full-length record, A Trip To The Moon, was released last year. Far Out called the record, “an opulent lunar soirée. At times, it’s suave and sexy; at others, bold and abstract.”
The band is about to embark on its first-ever European tour, with dates throughout March. They’ve teased a new album is the works, and we will be waiting rather impatiently.
