Eric Bibb is a thrice-Grammy nominated American blues artist. Given his first guitar at age seven, he’s been writing, playing and singing ever since. His father Leon was a familiar figure in NYC’s folk scene, and his uncle John was a pianist and member of the Modern Jazz Quartet. With this sort of pedigree, it’s not surprising that Eric decided to carve out his own musical identity. Encouraged by Bob Dylan to “keep it simple,” he immersed himself in the blues and folk traditions, listening to Odetta, Joan Baez, and others.
He began playing with his father at age 16 and has continued to make music ever since, He was first nominated for a Grammy for Shakin' a Tailfeather in 1997, again in 2017 for Migration Blues, and most recently in 2023 for Ridin'. An enduring talent on the blues scene, he’s not showing any signs of slowing down, with In the Real World due in October.
