Quinn Oulton

Jazz music is forever evolving and the jazz scenes that are happening in several parts of the world have jazz artists creating new styles and sounds while still staying true to their traditions. Jazz saxophonist and singer, Quinn Oulton has been making the rounds on the jazz scene, especially in his native London. He is also a multi-instrumentalist and a recent graduate of the Royal Academy of Music.

He has been playing the saxophone since age 8 and grew up listening to not only jazz but also rock, folk, and other music genres. He has been part of the World Heart Beat family which includes jazz musicians such as Julian Joseph, Trevor Watkis, and Patrick Clahar. Although Quinn Oulton loves mixing other genres in his music he says "his heart and mind are firmly in jazz." He is constantly creating and melding his saxophone harmoniously into his jazz grooves. His usage of electronics and the mix of his vocals with jazz notes and funk are smooth and inspiring, especially on the track "Show Your Face." He made his debut in 2017 with his self-titled and self-produced debut EP. The album earned him a place on the 2018 Red Bull Academy. During his tenure there he met hip-hop producer, Just Blaze, and string arranger, Larry Gold who arranged for Justin Timberlake and Kanye West. After meeting them it opened up new possibilities and influences for him with his music. He has played and toured with jazz drummer, Moses Boyd and last year released his new EP, Long Gone. He is set to release a new single, Feel Free by the end of this month. Check out this new jazz sensation and support independent music and musicians worldwide. Happy listening!
