English rock band, Nova Twins consists of 2 female leads, vocalist/guitarist, Amy Love, and bassist, Georgia South. These 2 ladies can rock hard. The two friends met in school when they were kids and growing up were playing in different bands that were always on the same bill together. Logically they decided to form their own band.
They first formed a band in 2014 called BRAATS and released the song, Bad Bitches. These ladies are involved in every aspect of their brand from designing their outfits to the concepts of their videos and art direction. Girl power, I love it. Coming from England where the Punk Rock sound was huge in the '80s, with bands like The Sex Pistols, The Buzzcocks, Ultravox, and others, it's no surprise to have these 2 talented women want to rock. There are other rock funk/rock punk bands like Bad Brains, Fishbone and Living Colour only they are not fronted by 2 leading ladies. The duo has caught the attention of such rock luminaries as Munky from the nu-metal band, Korn, Nona Hendryx and others. The music is hardcore but with a twist mixing some alternative rap but they best describe it as, "urban punk." Whatever you want to call it I say it cranks. They made their debut in 2016 with their self-titled EP and have released a few singles. Last year they made their album debut with, Who Are The Girls? They even had metal magazine, Kerrang give some positive reviews and have their own clothing line called, Bad Stitches. Whew, talk about being busy! Check out their song, Play Fair with the intro sounding a bit like a Nine Inch Nails intro. These ladies know how to rock and have opened up for such rock bands as Prophets of Rage, Wolf Alice, Black Honey and others and the audiences love them. Their mishmash of music genres such as grime, punk, rock, rap and alternative is at times reminiscent of such bands like Prodigy, New York Dolls with some funk thrown in for good measure. Check out this badass duo and support independent music and musicians worldwide. Happy listening!
