On the heels of last year’s compilation of early works, Watch Over Me, Illinois native Lissie has released her fifth studio album, Carving Canyons. Creating folk-pop songs with an Americana tinge and a voice that is uncannily similar to Stevie Nicks, her tunes are deeply personal and find her “digging deep to carry on through life’s many uncertainties” according to the artist.
Lissie first stepped on a stage at age nine when playing the title character in the musical, Annie. She continued making music, opening for local acts when she was a student at Colorado State University. An early composition (in collaboration with DJ Harry) was featured on several TV shows. She spent some time at Sony but has returned to her indie roots on Lionboy Records.“Carving Canyons is another step in an impressive career that opens up endless possibilities for what’s to come.” (Rockshot Magazine) She’s playing dates across the pond for the rest of September but returns home in October with shows crisscrossing the country through December.
