New Music Monday: La Femme

La Femme is a French group that is known for psychedelic surf punk/pop (with some techno tossed around for good measure when that’s how they’re vibin’. They are, in a word, dynamique. Formed in 2010 by guitarist Sacha Got and keyboardist Marlon Magnée in Biarritz. Located in France's Basque region on the Bay of Biscay, the town is a mere twenty-two miles from the Spanish border. That proximity may explain why the entirety of the group’s latest album, Teatro Lucido, is sung entirely in Spanish.

La Femme’s influences are très cosmopolitan, culminating in a, “blend of synth-rock, psychedelia, surf, cold wave, Motown and indie rock (among other influences)... they are truly a band of the world. Just take their latest single “Sacate La” as an example." (The Indy Review)
