Nate Najar

Many people wonder where did samba jazz originate simple answer is Brazil. One of the founders of this style is Antonio Carlos Jobim but many jazz artists have released albums giving praise to this jazz form. Jazz guitarist Nate Najar is one that loves samba jazz. Born in St. Petersburg, Florida this jazz acoustic guitarist is also a Charlie Byrd devotee. During his teenage years, he studied classical guitar and the rest is history. He has played with the best in jazz from Bucky Pizzarelli, John Lamb, and jazz saxophonist Jessy J. He has played the international music festivals around the world.

He is not only a talented guitarist but also a producer and composer. He has also composed for films and appeared on television. He made his debut in 2001 with the album Jazz Impressions and released several albums since then each one with a different style of jazz. He even explores pop music and folk music on his album, Until Now which was released in 2009. He paid homage to Charlie Byrd in 2012 with the album, Blues For Night People a must-listen for jazz fans. He just released his latest called Jazz Samba Pra Siempre which pays homage to the 1962 album Jazz Samba by Stan Getz and Charlie Bryd. Nate Najar even plays Charlie Bryd's own guitar (a 1974 Ramirez 1A nylon-string guitar). The reimagined 7 tunes are beautiful in composition and great to listen to in your car or in a dim-lit living room by candlelight. You can find Nate Najar on tour and please go check him out live, you won't regret it. Support independent music and musicians. Happy listening!
