Jeff Parker

In the Jazz world, there is a constant slew of new jazz artists and musicians to keep your eye on, Jeff Parker is one such Jazz guitarist to watch. Born in Bridgeport, Connecticut he likes to create spaces in Jazz to experiment with. He mixes experimental, post-rock, and free Jazz and other genres. His parents were teachers and music was a big part of his household. He is also a multi-instrumentalist who is part of the post-rock band, Tortoise, and has been a pillar of the Chicago Jazz and experimental music scene for years. Jeff Parker has played with some well-known Jazz artists like Joshua Redman, Jason Moran as well as R&B artist, Me'shell Ndegeocello.

He has 6 recorded albums and in January of this year, he released his latest, titled "Suite for Max Brown." Jeff Parker recently was interviewed and this is what he said about Jazz music. "Jazz, if nothing else, is flexible, chameleonic music that has always borrowed from culture, brought it back and reinvented itself, and in turn, transformed what it borrowed from. It is constantly evolving and changing. In this way, history and tradition is made all the time."

Check out this amazing Jazz guitarist and support independent music and musicians. Happy listening!
