The music scene in Europe has been exploding in the past few years with artists of several music genres making a name for themselves in Jazz, NeoSoul, HipHop, and more. One such artist is Jafaris, aka, Percy Chamburukahhe from Zimbabwe and based in Dublin, Ireland. He is part of the new wave of rap artists coming out of the rising rap music scene in Ireland right now. He says he takes his influence from the U.S. and U.K. hip-hop scene and he has been compared to such artists as Chance the Rapper, Kendrick Lamarr, and Anderson.Paak. Jafaris's music is a mix of not only hip-hop but Atlanta Trap, RnB, Afrobeats, and Soul. He says he loves to experiment and likes to jump between things he likes and what he feels.
Jafaris is never shy from shouting out his island and even mentions his city of Dublin in the song "Keeping Brothers." Recently on his Instagram page said that he aims to let the world know about the talent and passion that there is in Ireland. He also has a background in both acting and dance. Last year he released his debut album, Stride which he plans to reproduce in a live setting. He wants to include visuals, theater as well as music, something to have the fans not only hear but see as a way to turn off their cell phones.
