Hello Yello

This band, Hello Yello out of Oakland, CA has been making quite of bit of noise in the past year. Their music is infectious and not easy to categorize but maybe that's their plan. The band consists of brothers Dylan Wiggins ( guitar and vocals)Jaden Wiggins (bass guitar)and their friend, Martin Rodrigues on drums. Their music is a mix of punk, grunge, emo, and hip hop. Those sounds mixed together create exhilarating and bold music reminiscent of 90's grunge years. Hello Yello only started releasing music last year and have quickly gained a large following. The band members say they don't care about what their music should sound like, they are just expressing themselves creatively. Early on the band's name was SMSHNG HRTS but because of a naming dispute with the rock band, Smashing Pumpkins they quickly had to come up with a new name. The Wiggins brothers years ago performed on the TV show, Americas Got Talent, and came in fourth. If their last name seems familiar then you may have figured out that their father was a member of the R&B group, Tony, Toni, Tone. They grew up with instruments in the house and friends coming over to jam. They were always listening to music and some of those artists included Jimi Hendrix, Linkin Park, Soundgarden.

Hello Yello last year released their EP, Love Wins. The band had been touring for their album but their tour was put on hold due to the Coronavirus. Check out Hello Yello and their kaleidoscope of music from this very talented band. Remember to support independent music and musicians. Happy listening!
