Raised in Brooklyn, multi-instrumentalist and singer/songwriter Garzon Montano had early exposure to a variety of musical styles, including classical from his mother, a mezzo-soprano, as well as salsa and cumbia, folk music from his parents’ native Colombia. He has absorbed these influences along with the rock and soul he grew up with. Early exposure via an opening slot of Lenny Kravitz’s 2016 European tour and Drake sampling a track from an early EP got him noticed by Stones Throw Records, an independent label that released his debut full-length album in 2017, Jardin.
