Every once in awhile an artist comes along that peaks your curiosity and Fini Bearman is that artist. Her voice is enchanting and she is not only a singer-songwriter but a composer and multi-instrumentalist. She is based in London, England and has released four albums. Her music is a mix of both Jazz, Folk and Contemporary music. She first discovered Jazz as a teenager when she started playing tenor saxophone and was listening to Charles Mingus cd's. She later went on to study Classical and Jazz singing and composition at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, she even took some workshops with Jazz luminary, Brandon Marsalis.
Fini Bearman says her musical influnences were Kurt Elling, Wayne Shorter and Donny Hathaway. She has perfromed at the London Jazz Festival, Berlin Jazz Festival and many others. She has both performed as a solo artist and has played with many jazz bands and classical orchestras as a side woman. She recently became the first professor of songwriting at the prestigious Guildhall School of Music and Drama which is her alma mater. Fini Bearman just released her latest album, La Loba which is out now.
