Elles Bailey

I love this British singer-songwriter's smokey voice, which is perfect for the Blues. Meet Elles Bailey from Bristol, England who has been winning audiences around Europe. She says when she was about 3 years old she became very sick with pneumonia and had a tube put down her throat. She says this accounts for her smokey voice.

One of her favorite singers and who she counts as an influence is Janis Joplin. Janis was known for being one of the hardest-working women on the rock and blues scene. Elles Bailey has a reputation for being the same, hardworking, and pulling no punches. Her other influences are Etta James, Dusty Springfield, and Fleetwood Mac. She has built a reputation around the local scene in England and all her work has paid off. She made her debut in 2015 with the EP, Who Am I To Me which quickly caught people's attention. She followed that up in 2017 with her album debut, Wildfire which was recorded in Nashville, Tennessee. Last year she was nominated for Blues Album of the year and named Blues Artist of the Year for the second year in a row. She says the best thing about being a musician is traveling and meeting lots of new people. She is happy that she will be able to do that again now that things are opening up again. Last month she released her new album, Shining in the Half Light and it's already getting serious attention. We can't wait for Elles Bailey to come back and tour the U.S. Support independent music and musicians worldwide. Happy listening.
