Irish singer Dermot Kennedy is another indie artist who has made good use of the tools available to him. His song "After Rain” was streamed millions of times, garnering a large fan-base quickly, along with critical praise from the Irish Times and leading members of music establishment.
His amalgam of Irish folk and soul demonstrates his varied influences brought to bear on the aforementioned single as as well as his debut EP Dancing Under Red Skies and his latest,, Doves & Ravens. His love of poetry and hip-hop shines through, with both his recordings and live performances earning plaudits from the critics.
