Channel Tres

Channel Tres has been making people take notice of him. There is a huge buzz about this rap, funk artist, DJ, producer. He was raised by his great grandparents in Compton, California. He says his great-grandma would listen to Marvin Gaye, Sam Cook, and Funkadelic. His other musical influences are Prince, David Bowie, and Pharrel. His great grandfather got him into jazz. These musical influences are apparent in many of his songs. Other than being a DJ, he is also a producer, and many big pop artists have sought his productions and songwriting skills but no one took him seriously about being a solo artist. He says that gave him low self-esteem and then released the song, Controller to let everyone know he was in control of his own destiny. In many of his songs you can hear that he is pro-women, Channel Tres says this is intentional because “I want women to be able to say this shit too without feeling degraded or anything. Women inspire most of the shit I do.”His music is a mix of hip-hop, house music, and of course funk. He is set to release his debut EP, Black Moses. In the meantime move your body to this funky house music artist. Support independent music and musicians. Happy listening!
