This talented singer-songwriter, guitarist from Wimberly, Texas made his debut in 2019 at the SXSW festival and has been busy ever since. Buck Meek had been playing guitar for the band, Big Theif and decided it was time to go solo. He has been living in our hometown of Brooklyn, NY for the past 7 years and although he's been playing rock he decided to get down to his Texas roots.
He studied at the Berklee School of Music in Boston, Massachusetts, and while there many of his friends were studying jazz but he wanted something more. He says before he started writing songs he grew up playing ragtime and the jazz music of Django Reinhardt along with swing music.
It's those early beginnings and their syncopated rhythm that has influenced his phrasing. He made his debut in 2013 with the EP, Live from a Volcano, and has released several singles since then. He released his debut album, Two Saviors this past January. Check out this great singer-songwriter and support independent music and musicians. Happy listening!
