Braxton Cook is being touted as an emerging jazz singer-songwriter/saxophonist to watch. He graduated from Julliard and has played with such jazz luminaries as Christian McBride, Christian Scott, and Jon Batiste. His music is a hybrid of jazz mixed with soul and alternative R&B. He has toured around the world and released several albums before being signed to Nettwerk Records.
Born in Boston, Massachusettes, this talented jazz saxophonist is also a multi-instrumentalist and vocalist that has been gaining attention in the music industry. He even had Billboard write about him saying "Braxton Cook is here to release you from all restrictive, negative thought." While he was a student he released his debut EP, Sketch in 2014, and in 2017 released his debut album, Somewhere In Between. Check out the song, I Can't with its abstract drumming style and melodies. In the same year, Ebony magazine listed him in the Top 5 Jazz Artists to Watch which includes Robert Glasper, Kamasi Washington, Butcher Brown, and Kris Bowers. His most talked about album came in 2018 No Doubt which jazz aficionados still rave about. Check out the song Wish You Well with its more electronic vibe.
