Jazz trumpeter, Aquiles Navarro is an exciting jazz artist to keep your eyes on. He is not only a musician but also a DJ and mixes jazz with music from his Panamanian heritage of salsa, reggae, and folkloric music. The groove created will make you want to get up and dance. He studied jazz trumpet in his native Panama and when he arrived in the U.S. he studied and graduated with a degree in Jazz Performance from the New England Conservatory and a Master's degree from the University of Miami where he studied trumpet under the tutelage of Brian Lynch.
In 2015 he joined the free jazz ensemble Irreversible Entanglements and last year in 2020 they released their self-titled album to much acclaim. Aquiles Navarro considers himself an improviser and brings several genres of music together creating a sonic vocabulary one can relate to. Last year he also released an album with drummer, Tcheser Holmes titled Heritage of the Invisible that mixes both their musical styles and improvisation.
