Jordan Cardy, aka Rat Boy, began to get attention from his first release, The Mixtape, in 2014, which he posted on SoundCloud. He sent it around to some industry folks and eventually landed a record deal. The Mixtape received radio play on BBC6 and other outlets, and NME featured it as well, nominating him as a best new artist in 2016. His debut album, Scum, hit number 15 on the UK album chart, and he supported Liam Gallagher on tour. His latest album, Suburbia Calling, is full of infectious tunes that range from ska to punk to reggae to lots of other great stuff in between and which harks back to the days when groups like the Clash were fiddling around with multiple genres.
