Guatemalan cellist Mabe Fratti has released her fourth album, Sentir Que No Sabes. The classically trained musician had limited exposure to works outside of her studies and her family’s Pentecostal religious choices until file-sharing platforms exposed her to reggae, jazz, blues, and funk. Studying in Mexico, she eventually met like-minded musicians who would form the avant-garde collective, Amor Muere. Her work crosses the lines of these genres to create highly listenable, harmonically dynamic textures. She’s got a great voice too!
