During the recording of its latest album, Mexican group Lorelle Meets the Obsolete doubled in size from a duo to a quartet, and that’s not the only thing that changed. The band’s fuzzy, psychedelic shoegazing has been given a harder edge, with electronics and a post-punk grit on Datura. Much of the album was recorded “live” with no overdubs at the group’s Ensada studio. The featured track serves as a bridge between the old sound and the new.
