It's not often I get excited about a new singer on the scene but after listening to Indie R&B/hip-hop singer/rapper Qveen Herby, I was hooked. Amy Renee Heidemann Noonan professionally known as Qveen Herby is an artist to watch.
She started with the pop duo Karmin with Nick Noonan who later became her husband. They released their debut album Hello in 2012. After leaving Epic Records they went independent but she decided to go solo. She changed her name to Qveen a nickname from her schoolmates and Herby which means “Warrior.” She released her debut EP 1 with the single “Busta Rhymes” and has been releasing EPs year after year. Her music mixes R&B with hip-hop and jazz stylings. Her voice is smooth and mesmerizing. She made her album debut in 2021 with A Woman and just released her EP Stripped (Live from Herby House). Its previously released songs were stripped down and recorded live.
You can check out Qveen Herby’s podcast on her website qveenherby.com. She is now on tour and will play at The Governors Ball Music Festival in NYC on June 7th. Support independent music and musicians. Happy listening!
