Bound by their shared loved of Pink Floyd, Air, and Spiritualized, the members of Junodream grew up together. They began playing together, and in 2018 they made it official. They were a band. Releasing a debut EP, Galactica, in 2018, the band continued to put out more of their signature “dream rock.” Two more EPs followed, including 2019’s Isn’t It Lovely and mid-pandemic release, Travel Guide, in 2021.

Perhaps the upheaval during the pandemic played a part in the making of the band’s full-length debut, with keyboardist Ed Vyvan explaining, “I feel like spaces between people are getting bigger…I feel like the distances between people are getting bigger. The emotional distances, the social distances, physical distances.” Themes of alienation are amid layers of atmosphere laden sounds in the aptly named Pools of Colour. It’s the perfect soundtrack for these uncertain times.
