This singer-songwriter caught my attention with his new single, it reminded me of a classic song that starts with the same sound. Aaron Frazer best known as the co-lead singer and drummer for the band Durand Jones & The Indications has struck out on his own and as a music fan, I love it.

Born in Baltimore and now based in Brooklyn, NY Aaron Frazer loves soul music, and it's apparent. He grew up listening to such soul singers as Jackie Wilson, James Brown, and Curtis Mayfield. Those artists influenced his love for retro soul and it’s where it’s at for him. He decided to go solo in 2020 and released his debut album Introducing…in 2021 with great soul-inspired songs and a falsetto voice that reminds you of yesteryear. He’s fine with the attention he’s been getting about his music but refuses to be pigeonholed. He just released his latest Into the Blue and I have added it to my playlist. He is now on tour and will play in Brooklyn, NY on October 11th at the Brooklyn Bowl. Support independent music and musicians. Happy listening!
